The Danish NOMCO corpus

This article presents the Danish NOMCO Corpus, an annotated multimodal collection of conversational Danish. Twelve different speaker pairs engage in conversation with the purpose of getting acquainted with one another.  They were video-recorded while standing speaking in a recording studio. The videos were then carefully annotated and analysed by the research team.  The corpus has served as the empirical basis to study how gesture and non-verbal behaviour in general contributes to turn management, feedback exchange, information packaging and the expression of emotional attitudes. The article describes the annotation scheme, procedure, annotation and analysis results. The corpus is available for research and teaching purposes through the authors of this article.

I denne artikel præsenterer vi det danske NOMCO-korpus – en opmærket multimodal samling af samtaler på dansk hvor tolv deltagerpar taler sammen for at lære hinanden at kende. Deltagerne blev filmet mens de stod foran hinanden og talte i et optagelsesstudie. Videoerne er blevet udførligt opmærket og analyseret af forskerteamet. De er blevet brugt som empirisk materiale til at undersøge hvilken rolle gestus og andre ikke-verbale træk spiller i turtagning, feedback, informationsstrukturering og den måde hvorpå følelser udtrykkes. I artiklen beskriver vi opmærkningsskemaet og –proceduren, og vi gennemgår analyseresultaterne
