CopCo: The Copenhagen Corpus of Eye-Tracking Recordings from Natural Reading of Danish Texts
CopCo is a new eye movement data resource tailored to both psycholinguistics and natural language processing. The goal is to investigate reading behaviour of Danish language in various population. To this end, we record eye movements of participants reading continuous Danish texts in their own speed.
Eye movement records from reading provide rich signals of human language processing. We are currently compiling CopCo, the Copenhagen Corpus of eye-tracking recordings from natural reading of Danish texts. It is the first eye-tracking corpus of its kind for the Danish language. CopCo includes 1,832 sentences with 34,897 tokens of Danish text extracted from a collection of speech manuscripts. This first release of the corpus contains eye-tracking data from 20 participants. It will be extended continuously with more participants and texts from other genres.
We are continuously looking for participants for this study. The experiment involves reading Danish texts while your eye-movements are recorded as well as two short linguistic assessment tests. The experiment lasts for 60-90 minutes. Participants are rewarded with a gift.
We are looking for:
- Skilled adult Danish native speakers
- Dyslexic adult Danish native speakers
- Danish learners of any other native language (at least level B1)
